Ankle Arthritis
Arthritis is inflammation of a joint, and ankle arthritis is the inflammation of an ankle joint. There are over 100 diseases that can lead to arthritis. When arthritis affects the joint, initial symptoms include stiffness, swelling, and pain. As the disease progresses it can lead to deformities, impair joint functions, and decreases the patient’s ability to walk. The most common cause of arthritis is osteoarthritis. Other forms of arthritis include rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis.
